Ann had spent the last year on and off on Sacramento with her daughter receiving treatment.  I was lucky enough to be able to spend time with her and last saw her on Thursday which is the day she passed away.  Her daughter posted on FaceBook the following:  "It is with great sadness I report that I lost my Roo, Ann Abbott Lilienthal last night.  She was my rock, my greater half, my "two-blondes-one-brain" speaker-in-stereo Mom.  I am lost without her.

She put up a very brave fight against AML this year (such a strong woman - my absolute hero), but it eventually got the better of her.

(((CANCER SUCKS!!!)))

Everybody always asks, how can I help?  Can I do anything for you?  Although condlences are greatly appreciated and we know they are heart-felt - what we would prefer is celebration.  Of the wonderful woman she was.

So, if you knew her, or if she touched your life in any way (and if you knew her, I'm sure she did), I would like to ask you to please take a moment to think of her and any and all fond memories that might spring to mind.  And then, if you wouldn't mind, please take just a moment to jot them down.  In lieu of flowers or "sorry for your loss" - please shre with me either a short description of your impression of her, or a funny story (because we know she was a part of those!) or just anything that comes to mind and perhaps worms your heart about your time with her.  And I ask you to either drop a line via snail mail to me at: 6003 Almond Ave, Orangevale, CA 95662 (it would be so wonderful to find a celebration of her life in the mail.

I would love to gather your responses and read them at a small celebration of her life sometime next summer, and as a keepsake for myself and her grandchildren.

She was such a great lady.  Yes?  Please.

Thank You "

p.s.  If I can figure out how to upload a recent picture of her, I will.  I'm going to miss her lots.
