"Sugy" and I were good friends at McClatchy and I worked with him several years later at DMV. Sugy had a great sense of humor, always had a funny story or two. And was a real wheeler/dealer, always had something in the cooker. He died 2-3 years ago in San Francisco, where he'd lived for many years.
Sugy had a great talent. He could stop traffic! We would usually be in the Zawacki mobile - Fred, Sugy, and Jim Young usually - driving down freeport boulevard and Sugy would hang his head out the window and imitate a police car siren. Cars would always pull over to the side of the road. One of his many talents. He was always a lot of fun to be with, ready to do any crazy thing that any of us might think up.
