I remember Fred as an always smiling young man who cared about his fellow classmates and who was

fun to be around.. He will be missed as are all of the classmates who have departed this earth. May God rest his soul.

Sad news indeed!  Fred, with his winning smile and perennial upbeat attitude, was a person one could not help but like. May he rest in peace. Jim Townsend

Very sorry to hear this.  For me anyway, Fred was the iconic member of our class of 1960.  Always friendly to everyone, always a smile on his face.  Still the same at the 50th reunion.  I was not a real close friend of Fred's but he would alway say "Hi Lee, how are you??" when he saw me at McClatchy.  A truly good guy.  Godspeed, Fred.

Fred was a great guy.  I was lucky to have worked with him on the last reunion, getting to know him as an adult.  He had a great smile and good sense of humor.  All of his emails were signed "Hugs Freddie"!  I will miss him as I am sure the rest of the "Committee" will.

I was so sad to hear of Fred's passing.  I Thought he was such a fun and nice guy in high school but it wasn't until 50 years later that I realized how sentimental he was about our class.  The scrapbooks and memorabilia at the McClatchy Reunion gathering were all Fred's.  He was a sincere, compassionate man and I will miss him at the next reunion.

So sad about Fred's passing. He was so friendly at the reunion. I especially remember him when we toured McClatchy because he had campaign cards from our class elections. I had forgotten that I had run for an office until he showed me my campaign materials. He made me smile.

I recall Fred as being a friendly face among a lot of us at McClatchy.  He was outgoing, easy to engage in conversation, and seemed interested in what you were doing, how you were.  I don't remember too many situations where he was not upbeat.

Yes, he will be missed by family and friends.  Memories are always good, though.

There was no one who so clearly loved being at McClatchy High School and in the graduating class of 1960 as much as Fred.  At the 50th year reunion I was totally amazed at all of the memorabilia that Fred had acquired and kept so well over the years.  And the Smile, he never lost the smile and his attitude of friendship for everyone he met,  He is so fondly remembered and will forever be missed.

I lived a block from Fred's house all through high school. What a great guy with a beautiful smile. If you wanted

to get into trouble and have a great time (fun trouble), go out on the town with fred. You will be missed my

friend. Heaven has the best now. Thanks for the memories.   Jim Smith

Dearest Fred.  Fun, funny, always happy, lived life to its fullest in spite of any setbacks, loved jokes, and a survivor.  We will miss his ever-ready smile and womderful, thoughtful personality.  He will always be a part of our memories because he was a most memorable guy.  Rest in peace and keep them smiling up there.  Carol Misterly Boice
